God I wish we still had downbears :deeper-sadness: making me go through a PTSD-style flashback to the Tommy needs drinkie tweet should be grounds for a ban

It's funny because all of my struggles made me more empathetic to the suffering of others

I honestly don't get the whole "Well, bad things happened to me so I don't care" attitude

Yeah, exactly the same for me too. I actually care about Afghanistan way more than i would because of the trauma i went through

If someone were badgering here about Afghanistan while she was currently being abused i would get it, she doesn't have the energy to care about it right now. But saying "I went through something bad, so screw everyone else" is insane.

I didn't like going through my own personal "Afghanistan" for almost 20 years. That's why I don't give it shit about it happening to an entire country for almost 20 years

What did they think they were accomplishing with this? Most Amerikkans don't care about Afghanistan anyway they could just be silent and be in the majority lol

A former (“upper-middle class” rich) friend of mine would tell me he didn’t believe in the privilege concept because his mom bailed on him when he was 3.
