    You have to vote them into government first and only then do you get a chance to understand what they're like and, according to Jones, only then do you have a right to voice any objections to that party.

    Thatcher has been out of government for a third of a century. Building a votescold campaign based on her memory, especially when nearly half of the UK public wasn't even alive during Thatcher's political career is just ridiculous.

      Don't they have a whole "shadow cabinet" over there just for the opposition party to say what they'd totally be doing if they were in power?

        The common line is that the shadow cabinet are just saying all the stuff and announcing far-right policies to appeal to the voter base. Once they get in power, THEN they'll be real leftists, they proooomise

          Is THAT what a shadow cabinet does? Maaaaaan, I thought they were some cool dark council with robes and hoods that practiced black magic and plotted to install a dark lord. This just sounds like if reddit losers were given a megaphone.
