Transmeds be like: "Enbies are taking over the trans community. Nobody even acknowledges binary trans people anymore! Our struggles are being ignored!"

Meanwhile, every conversation my NB ass gets into after I tell someone that I'm trans goes like this:

    Stranger: "MtF or FtM?"

    Me: "Neither."

Stranger: "What? How is that possible?"

        "I'm non-binary"

"How are you non-binary if you just said your pronouns are she/her? And you're not on hormones? And you also say you're agender? How does any of that make sense? You're making stuff up."

        "Nope, I'm still non-binary nerd"

I am baffled by the fact that there are people who think they can understand your own internal sense of identity better than you, the one who experiences it.

It's even more baffling that there are trans people stuck in this mindset. Of all people, they should have the most self-awareness that invalidating one's feelings around something like gender identity isn't very pleasant or sensible.

Yeah I'm still at a stage where people, even other trans people sometimes, think I'm just making up stuff or making fun of transness. I go by she/her but I wear mostly men's clothes and don't talk in a feminine voice. I say I'm agender but I'm not really androgynous. I'm just me and I know who I am, and that's good enough for me.
