Banned in a way that leaves us hopelessly outgunned by fascists and unable to catch up, or banned in a way that is actually going to effect our opposition?

Banned in a way where they declare three random aesthetic features of an AR-15 illegal and gun manufacturers take about ten seconds to crank out a ban-legal version that's operationally identical to the pre-ban rifle. If carbon fiber barrel shrouds, any barrel end attachment that prevents you from deafening everyone at the range when you fire, and those little M-16 carrying handlebar things get the axe this time around I'll have a bingo!

Banned in a way where absolutely nothing is going to happen except I'm going to have to hear the stupidest right wing discourse ever when I go to work, annoying me so much that I will again decide not to vote for Joe Biden.

Hey you're leaving out the possibility that he bans a cosmetic feature that directly inconveniences gun owners and imprisons a handful for doing essentially nothing, but doesn't in any way affect lethality. We could have all the negative effects with none of the good!

If we join together and expend what political capital we have, we have a good shot of making AR-15's slightly uglier to look at.
