    They're trying to keep people calm. This has major "you don't need to wear a mask" vibes we saw at the beginning of covid.

    HPAI A(H5N1) virus infections have been reported in more than 890 people with approximately 50% case fatality proportion since 1997, including 20 cases and 7 deaths in Hong Kong during 1997-2003, and more than 870 cases reported in 22 countries since November 2003.

    Just takes a couple mutations to become a nightmare scenario. We are playing Russian roulette with nature.

        Yeah that's a really fucking scary number. If it finds a way to transmit super easily, incubate for a couple weeks, or both...no idea what we would do.

          Yeah, and based on how a lot of people reacted to covid, we'd be so, so fucked. Like, it would actually probably be an apocalyptic scenario. Society would collapse.
