      By my very rough napkin math, he's probably got at least a few more hours of fuel left assuming the tanks were full when he stole it.

          They're supposedly talking to him so I imagine the options are:

          1. Guide him to a safe landing at a small airport.
          2. Let him fly around, run out of gas & crash. (If he's away from people)
          3. Let him fly around away from people, hope for option 2 but blow him out the sky if he heads back towards a population.

          I mean, what can they do? Shoot him down and hope he crashes in a field? That'll kill the flyer though, so that's iffy, and there is not guarantee he'll crash in an area with no people. I guess the dilemma is trying to minimize causalities from the plane being used as a weapon. But hey, I'm not a plane hijacking/potential kamikaze mission expert, I don't know what I'm talking about at all.
