I had this problem for a while, got over it by always doing my dishes asap. Found if I left them around for a little bit, I'd just like, ignore them, and it'd be a huge thing mentally to get started on all the dishes. But now, done cooking? Do the dishes. Done eating? Do the dishes. Now that I'm in the habit of doing it, its automatic, though having my 'routine' be interrupted by something does knock me off track.
Emptying dish drainer still gives me issues, since that's a task that is difficult to put a label of 'immediacy' on, but luckily it is easier to do than a big ol pile of dishes.
(I dunno if any of that will help you, since I can really only speak for my own bad brain, but little things like that helped turn me from a 'slob' to a always clean apartment haver.)
