God, all those innocent North Koreans, about to be sent to the hyper-gulag for not having the same haircut as Kim Jong-Un.

Literally every person in that video is now serving their 4 generations sentence at the labour camp.

Damn, this is creepy. People being forced to walk around a city to go about their business. You tankies will defend this, but it clearly shows how little freedom these people have under this oppressive regime.

You know, I always figured it was more for bikes and shit than cars, but these mfers are riding their bikes on the sidewalks anyway. You're right, what the hell are these enormous roads actually for?

Not that it's a huge problem, a big empty road is far nicer than a road of any size packed with cars. But it is a weird urban planning choice.

military use mostly. same reason the highway system in america was made for emergency aircraft landings and for military convoys

The roads are weird. There always seem to be wide roads in footage of the DPRK even though most people are seen riding bikes and walking.

Could be made much thinner or just replaced with trams or something. Perhaps it's a result of the sanctions?
