To be fair, it wasn't 'that' good from what I heard. There is little reason to play it over the Stellaris Star Trek mod, if I'm not mistaken. If you are interested in the Star Trek mod, it's called Star Trek: New Civilisations. It's super up to date as well. The last update was on the 1st of April.

It's actually "ST: New Horizons" and yeah, when Star Trek: Infinite came out I was like "Why would anyone pay money for this? This is just 1/3rd of the New Horizons mod with a fresh coat of paint."

You aren't wrong, but neither am I. There are actually two different Star Trek total conversion mods for Stellaris: ST: New Horizons and Star Trek: New Civilisations. I think ST: New Horizons is a bit better, but ST: New Civilisations is newer. Either way, both are excellent Star Trek-themed mods and both are in active development.

          Oh, word!

I haven't played Stellaris in a year or two so ofc I haven't heard about civilizations yet; that aside yeah it was a baffling choice to make Infinite, especially since I'm assuming Paradox had to get licensing for it which couldn't have been cheap.

I guess Star Trek is 'ok' for like 1-3 playthroughs, but it's not even a rough gem like Imperator Rome in my opinion. Imperator Rome was abandoned but left in a pretty decent spot by Paradox. (Especially with mods, Imperator Rome is a legit solid game.) If you are interested in Imperator Rome, try the Imperator: Invictus mod (the best mod for the game and still in active development).

Star Trek Infinite, on the other hand, has little to no polish and little work beyond the 1.0 version.
