I saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor and while they can play whatever they want, they really should have done Dead Flag Blues as that is the theme of the apocalypse.
I’ve spent most of the afternoon watching the smoke cover roll in from these new fires. It looks like a patchy spring rain, but the tawny oily smears the edges leave in the setting sun belie it’s true nature. Very different from the past couple days, tbh, which is more what I’m used to. I’ve seen plenty of wildfires and fire-lit skies in my time - I’ve never had quite this experience of just seeing a wave of smoke advance so ominously like this on an otherwise clear day.
