that almost happened to me once so I do understand that, if you're girlfriend has a family that wouldn't accept her if she got pregnant and didn't marry or couldn't support herself with a kid while single there is definite pressure that can't be simply waved away.
Have you considered that your mom used to be incredibly hot and annoying but now is just annoying?

Fortunately in my case it was just a scare
