while in our parlance, plant-based usually means vegan, the definition is quite broad, scientifically. it includes diets that are just "mostly plants", as was the case in this study, in order to contrast it to the standard amerikkkan diet in which people literally eat meat for every meal. this doesn't make it "bad science" or "not news" no matter how much carnists want to nitpick and discredit it. either way, my reasoning for going vegan is not because "it makes you healthy!" anyways, its based around morality and opposing the extremely capitalist form of animal "agriculture".
