    Except there is enough fruit for everyone, the person with the fruit is hoarding all the fruit they don't need, and they're also killing the tree by forcing it to overproduce.

      And they're burning some of the fruit supply (right in front of starving workers) in order to keep prices up. And they have armed goons who can detain or murder you for "stealing" the fruit.

    This works for all ruling class vs. underclass divides, though of course we live under the capitalist class divide.
