    I unironically believe that under communism marriage will basically wither away.

    Modern wedding are definitely bougie though.

      Idk, I like weddings.

      I think having a big party to publicly celebrate how you and your partner really like each other and want to stay together is cool and fun.

      anthropologically there are so many different types of marriage: Monogamous, polygamous, polyandrous, polyamorous, group, etc.

      Cishet monogamous marriage, the type recognized as legitimate in the Capitalist West, the institution upholding bourgeois private property and family structures, will probably wither away under communism, but I doubt all recognized anthropological forms of romantic union will wither away. Our definition of what marriage precisely means is often limited.

      If we are being serious, I would think that there would be some form of marriage as a celebration of love and partnership. But it will probably deviate quite substantially from current traditions and marriage would no longer be a legal category even before the withering away of the state.
