Very silly map with a deeply Eurocentric data set. Looking at this would put you under the impression that there has never been any conflicts in the Pacific Northwest, Congo Basin, or Eurasian Steppe. Notions that are absurdly incorrect and (in their own way) reinforce the chauvinistic idea that History did not exist in almost all of the world until white people arrived.
Yeah this is just "history is what white people have in their searchable libraries".
That's the beauty of it. It makes people think as the mainstream wants to rush to the defense of whites.
Sure, this is short, quippy, and wrong. But it gets people explaining. People love to make "muh 13/50" comments all the time, and when we try to give a detailed explanation, they are already too convinced they're right to listen.
Now, they're the ones doing the explaining. Because they can either accept the surface level argument which is "white people are in no position to call people criminals" or "history is complicated and data can be misleading."
I think a woke racial essentialism still does more for the fascists' arguments than principled universalism.
a lot of conflicts have been lost to history
colonizers burned historical records in the western hemisphere
lol northern ireland and the balkans being the reddest areas of europe. does this map only consider the past 30 years or something
Put this on the right sub and I guarantee within five minutes you'd have some redditbrain commenting that the reason there's more conflict in Europe and N America is because of their advanced technology.
That´s a cliché: '…in Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace-and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock'.
Wait til they hear toblerone is swiss
edit: also gruyere and tete des moines. After going vegan, i suddenly stopped viewing switzerland as treatland
It's much worse when you realize this is Mercator projection and Europe should actually be about half the size it is on this map.
I’m pretty sure indigenous people in Australia got some violence done to them
