Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins
Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.
Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)
Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.
On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.
Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Last week's discussion post.
Update - @Malinowski (D-NJ) to introduce bill requiring US to pull its troops & missile systems out of Saudi Arabia & UAE, after oil cut "It is time for the US to resume acting like the superpower in our relationship w/ our client states in the Gulf"
I like to see how they'll pull this off, would be amazing if they able to do it, accelerating the collapse of the empire.

Im trying to figure out if he meant something else by it?? Its just .....so out in the open
I'm 99% sure these idiots don't know what a client state actualy means and instead they thought it means just "customer" as if the Saudis are just casualy buying US weapons in a store somewhere.
EZ PZ a client state is a state that pays me for my services I love the free market I love democracy
Committing genocide in Yemen is only worth a stern talking to, as is dismembering a man with a bone saw.
But producing less oil in response to the west trying to crater oil prices with price caps? Well fuck, we might need to "resume acting like the superpower in our relationship"
Based and anti-imperialist imperialists
Horseshoe Theory: CONFIRMED
thats like gouging your eye out because a dust mote fell on it. I hope they do it.
I mean, is it? Can these states even hold together without American weapons? Saudi Arabia exists purely because the Saudi family became clients to the British Empire after WWI. Can they actually afford to defect to the burgeoning China-Russia-Iran alliance?

Also, they probably think that Trump will get in power position again in 2024 and Brandon admin are f*cking up too much right now and have zero leverage.
Weapon sales are much more important to the american ruling elte than whatever amount of oil they are not selling. As long as those weapons sales are made money is entering america. And the failsons have cushy jobs in the arms industry.
I agree saudi would collapse in a short time without us suport. It may even collapse any day now with us suport it is a very fragile regime. The houtis alone can do it. Internal friction amongst the royals can do it. Revolution headed by an opressed religious majority can do it.
Both china and russia sell weapons to saudi.
Edit also if they lose in yemen the us loses a very important strategic crossing and eventually al the oil..
The US f*ck the Middle East so badly, that the Saudi royal have them by the ball because majority people in ME hate the yank, and their proxy ins'treal. The yank need to be careful here.
We can all agre on one thing death to america.
Like, the Saudi has been buying up Chinese weapons lately, so they're diversifying. Even UAE cancel the orders of F35 after knowing that they need software that the yank held. As long as China has tech breakthrough ( which they will consider the amount of stem graduates they have), and brings in money, the Saudi will shift position. Also, Isn'treal is still there, and they have a lot of enemies.
To put it another way saudi is a pupet because it buys a lot of very expensive very usles american weapons. It may be irksome that they are taking the cas when their overlord wants to keep oil prices low. But all that money is going back to the usa eventually. More imoortantly its going back to the usual suspects.
