I'm genuinely impressed with their balls. Libs probably won't notice it but they've done this both on twitter and in-game.

OP I'm not sure what you're talking about? This game doesn't have politics, it's not some Disney woke nonsense. Not sure if you're thinking of another game.

Not true, there's a woman on your space ship. Not even Heckdivers is safe from Woke these days.

I've changed the in-game options to randomize whether I spawn in as a man or woke, and I'm keeping an excel spreadsheet to determine the percentage of SJW propaganda being forced on us. I've been invited onto the Joe Rogan Experience to discuss my findings.

its not my kind of game, but im LOVING how the devs are using the games online capabilities. i read somewhere that they essentially have a tabletop rpg style DM who manages the events like this and its such a cool idea.

      Canonically the bots are socialists/communists.

The bugs bodily fluids are rich in Element 710 (rotated 180 it reads OIL), the preferred fuel for interstellar travel.

Heh heh, reminds me of a car parts website selling a regular "OIL cap" and then a "710 cap" next to it for twice as much. They were the same thing

Maybe what they're doing is that the Automatons as the "children" of the Cyborgs are modern Russia, while the Cyborgs are the former soviets.

Either way the fact they're satirising this ukraine war language is a huge surprise. I did not expect it.

I could be wrong, but it does seem like the Automatons are off-shoots of the Cyborgs of Helldivers 1, canonically.

Yeah they are, they were created by the Cyborgs. The Cyborgs were enslaved in mines on the planet Cyberstan, which the Automatons just took back.

Either the Cyborgs will join the Automaton faction as a few different units, or they will become their own faction entirely.

Notably, as far as they have any motivation in the story, the bots are trying to reach Cyberstan to rescue the Cyborgs from a century of slavery.

That would definitely be a safer bit of satire but I'm convinced there's a ukraine element going on here.

I was looking at Sweden's Left Party and they have seats and an anti-nato position, so it tracks that there could be a whole studio with this mindset.

Egh, it's subtle enough for them libs to not notice... see the flag... looks more UN than NATO-ish so I suppose the least someone can think of is the U.S-led "U.N" campaign in the Korean War...

As far as I can tell the average helldiver lib hasn't put together that Super Earth is a satire of 21st century western imperialism at all. Asking them "which fascist power is super earth satirizing?" Breaks their brains.

And why would they? Let them sink into the marsh, as Lenin would've said...

If they want to rebound back, we can accept them back.. until then.... blob-sleep

Why? Google "unprovoked invasion" and it's page after page of Ukraine shit, this language has practically been a meme surrounding the ukraine war, and the left has criticised it very heavily: https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2023/05/11/gfgh-m11.html

If the devs are socialist-leaning then it tracks. Put it this way they also satirise the use of "authoritarian" to describe socialists in the game, which means they're definitely left of lib.

The devs absolutely are left-leaning, the whole thing started as an in-joke in their office. They even make it explicit that super-earth doesn't develop any tech of it's own, they just steal it.

I was gonna say I think OP called down the jump pack stratagem

They're satirizing the language of political propaganda in general. There's no reason to think they're commenting on Ukraine specifically.

They're satirizing American imperial language and there are definitely enough people in that studio to have chuckled about Ukraine, or October 7th, etc.

Helldivers is a game about being a disposable soldier for a fashest empire. They pretty much copy American propaganda directly. Libs do not get the joke.
