    I have noticed that reddit is really accelerating the anti-Chinese rhetoric. Even subs that are not "news" related by nature are posting more things that are anti-China in either a direct or tertiary way.

    It's sort of made me lose faith that the internet could have at least been a game changer for helping the average person see... at minimum... that most international conflict is bourgeois interests. Instead people like your average redditor have been captured by what is blatantly obvious propaganda. They are no different from a deranged :grillman: that watches Fox News and nods mindlessly in agreement with everything he hears. What is worse is the smugness that comes with it. The feedback echochamber they are in basically makes them feel comfort for thinking that way. It is addictive.

      My usually apolotical friends and coworkers have started coming at me with bad China takes, it's everywhere. Every major website has been fully coopted and weaponized for delivering propaganda, and people who consume it have by and large convinced themselves that they are reading independent media.
