Imagine you’re the first human being to ever be launched into space, and of all the sound bites you could have chosen, one that is certain to be immortalized in history, is simply a: “let’s fucking go!”
A naked expression that fully embodies the pure spirit of humanity’s adventurousness, its insatiable desire to explore new frontiers, and the immense excitement to propel into the unknown.
Every single person in the world instantly understands what that means. None of that pretentious philosophical bullshit that was 100% engineered by some scriptwriters behind the scene.
I also love how Armstrong kinda slurred this, leading to the common quote (the one in your title) being a nonsensical misinterpretation / mishearing of what he actually said.
"Man" and "mankind" are synonyms. The way you (and most people) quote it, those are the same thing. What he actually said was, "That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." But his 'a' was so short and poorly enunciated that now people think he was just talking nonsense
His quote goes hard and the fact that he messed it up is extremely funny to me. Sorry OP. Let's go is cool too though
This is really silly but I honestly associate the phrase "poyekhali" with a Chechen rap song set to footage from Naruto
