It is also so stupid. Even if the Dems win the general election (it looks like a lot of those Dem-backed Republicans are in very blue districts to begin with, this seems to be just Dems burning campaign cash for no reason on seats they would win anyway), the next GOP candidate will look more "reasonable" just because they aren't the crazy Q-pilled guy who got nominated with Dem money in 2022. Even if Dems remain electorally viable in the long-term, I only see them moving further right as a response to the GOP and underlying economic conditions. But never left.
