Hate to be the guy, but this is proof positive that a bourgeoise electoral strategy won't work. Left to their own devices, the liberal democrats will keep reproducing the same social conditions that lead to an organized facist opposition. Gambit seems to be "everyone vote Democrat - forever - otherwise kiss any semblance of 'democracy' goodbye." Seems pretty short-sighted TBH. Trump wasn't as universally hated as the beltway pundits like to think and the person who comes next will probably be less incompetent.

Not just "keep reproducing" - they love it! Every election is extremely important, any deviation from their strategy (that is the only strategy possible!) is betrayal and if they end up winning the only outcome can be doing a milder version of a potential GOP presidency that was just averted. And then the next election is again extremely important. They love it!

A lib was just lecturing me on how Biden has to implement Covid policy that is similar to what Trump did/wanted because MAGA supporters keep screaming that they want such policy.

          1000%

Trump may be racist but he could never really be a white supremacist because his narcissism is so large it gets in the way, he can only be a Trump supremacist

It's the electoral equivalent of corporate boards of directors never, ever looking further ahead than the next quarter's profits.

The SCOTUS has been captured by Christian Fascists. Electoralism is already dead, people just haven't figured it out yet.

I'm not so sure that it is smugness but naivete. They genuinely haven't been paying attention and do not understand how popular chanbrain ideas are.

No it's smugness. You might forgive voters for living their lives inside filter bubbles and echo chambers but politicians pay millions of dollars for polling and strategists to figure this shit out.

For those who don't know, the DNC emails revealed the Democrats' "pied piper" strategy. They ordered their allies in the mainstream media to cover Trump specifically. They thought they could drive the GOP over the cliff. Whoops, it didn't work. If they hadn't done this, likely ¡Jabe! Bush would have been the nominee and he would have glided to an easy defeat.

The worst part of it all was that the media meekly obeyed. They were given orders by a political party and they obeyed. Bootlickers.

I mean to be fair: it did work. Their mistake was, and still is, not realizing that they're going to drag the entire country with them.

It is also so stupid. Even if the Dems win the general election (it looks like a lot of those Dem-backed Republicans are in very blue districts to begin with, this seems to be just Dems burning campaign cash for no reason on seats they would win anyway), the next GOP candidate will look more "reasonable" just because they aren't the crazy Q-pilled guy who got nominated with Dem money in 2022. Even if Dems remain electorally viable in the long-term, I only see them moving further right as a response to the GOP and underlying economic conditions. But never left.

Absolute brain genius move. Literally just stuffing Nazi's pockets with cash will surely encourage me to donate.
