The standards of the industry are completely fucked, and Platinum goes along with them, so they're at least as bad as everyone else. Frankly everyone who works on a game in any capacity should get residuals on it, but as it is everyone is overworked and underpaid, and Bayo's actress thought she could parley her position into being underpaid slightly less and found out that she can't because Platinum sees her as replaceable.
This is why the video game industry needs a proper radical industrial union.
I think people talk about residuals for voice actors since that is how it is in other industries, but games take much longer to develop that movies or tv shows or other projects. For AAA games a studio might have over 100 devs ( programmers, artists, game designers) working for 3-5 years before they start the voice overs. But the voice actors certainly should get paid more
