I'm currently reading Michael Hudson's KIlling the Host about financecapitalism and it's parasitic relationship to the economy, and he spends a great deal of time going over the 2008 collapse and how Obama basically had a once in a century opportunity to wrestly control from Wall Street, and Wall Street even being prepared to accept some pretty hefty terms for any type of government help, and instead he and Tim Geitner chose to save the banks and financial institutions and let millions upon millions of people get foreclose on.
