If you think there's not going to be more economic and ecological catastrophe in the future, that liberalism is wholly unsuited to fucking deal with, and that failure is not going to lead to fascism filling that fucking hole, you've got another thing coming. And that's what these guys are, these guys that marched in Charlottesville. These are the people who are aware of the unspoken premise of this sort of zombie neoliberalism we are living in, which is that we are coming at a point where there is going to be ecological catastrophe, and it's going to either require mass redistribution of the ill-gotten gains of the first world, or genocide. And these are the first people who have basically said, 'if that's the choice, I choose genocide.' And they are getting everybody else ready intellectually and emotionally for why that's going to be okay when it happens. Why 'they’re not really people.' When we’re putting all this money into more fucking walls, and drones, and bombs, and guns to keep them away, so that we can watch them die with clear consciences, it's going to be because we have been loaded with the ideology that these guys are now starting to express publicly.

      papua new guinea, mali

Japan doesn't surprise me. They were fascist in WW2 and colonized the hell out of Korea and China. They did holocaust level shit to the Chinese like Unit 731. :japan-cool:

Love how when it came to Cuba the Ukraine abstained but they had to vote against this one

yes, and it's a symbolic vote that doesn't hold anyone to anything. It's an easy PR victory for those willing to vote yes, but the west has to shit its pants every year and rehabilitate nazism

I just assumed that was the cause of the dramatic "No" shift; Russia doing what it is while putting forward "combating Nazism" as one of it's reasons for the Ukraine war meant this was gonna be aggressively shot down

Still amusing to see countries which suffered horribly under Nazism just voting against it

This whole Ukraine thing is grim. There will be no "surrender". Russia has taken what they hope to take/hold. Once they're fully in control of those territories they will wait until West Ukrainians cannot attack any more and Donetsk/Lugansk will get their negotiated settlement. NATO Media will say it was a win for Ukraine because Russia didn't take all of Ukraine and didn't kill every last Ukrainian, wHiCh WaS tHeIr GoAl FrOm ThE sTaRt!

Europeans will be the most mad. There's already protests in Italy, Czechia, France, Austria calling for their governments to start encouraging negotiations. After people realize it was all for nothing, heads will roll. They lost their cheap energy. They lost their political security. NATO is dragging them into a conflict that could go nuclear.

The worst is that all of these socdem politicians and the centre-right liberals will be replaced by fascists and far-right parties. Who will then cut social programs and implement austerity because countries will be struggling, aaand 1930s/40s fascism will come back to Europe (as if it ever left). Perhaps that was the plan all along.
