Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

    A single Ukrop arrives in Kherson having survived the artillery bombardment covering the Russian withdrawal. He plants a flag on a grass block in the center of the city. His actions disturb a adjacent block that Russia has replaced with a gravel. The Ukrop watches as the block falls revealing lava. He looks around in horror realizing every block in the city has been replaced with gravel and sand. The whole city shifts like a shock wave. The chain reaction spreads and the ground is suddenly gone leaving lava in its place. After a moment's hesitation all that remains are the facades of buildings and even they are plummeting into a massive lake of lava under his feet. He falls to his knees on the grass block in despair. The despair turns to rage and he slams his fist into the grass block, his only refuge hovering over a lake of fire. He realizes his mistake too late. The crackle of a grass block breaking and bloop of a block being added to his inventory are the last sounds he hears before he rage quits never to return to the server.
