I have ADHD and I don't use it as an excuse for why I shouldn't be expected to do my dishes or flush the toilet

i got pretty terrible ptsd which effects my eating and cleaning habits a ton but i just eat meal replacement shakes and throw the cups i use rather lazily in the washer and run it even with other clean stuff in there lmao. making actual food all the time was hellish and would end up with me losing a ton of weight which isnt good because im already dangerously thin and tiny

just gotta remember that being perfect is the enemy of getting things done when your brain is all fucked. find the things that bother you and fix them. like the OP should probably install an autoflusher if its such a big deal

I do the same thing basically, but with the 3 tiny corelle 'salad' plates & bowls I use for everything, baking sheets/pans, and my air-fryer basket specifically because otherwise I will rinse everything off halfheartedly in the sink and let it pile up in a semi-clean state in the dishwasher until it hits max capacity before going 'wtf where are all the clean dishes' so I feel you on that. :che-smile:

yeah theres a trick to get around almost any mental disability, you just gotta explore what is going on and how to avoid it. of course it also usually costs money, which is the really unfortunate bit. ive personally invested a lot of my money into home automation stuff and avoid doing things that could possibly make things dirty or prevent things from getting dirty. if doing something requires more than 1-2 steps or a huge time investment i go a little catatonic so being able to press a button to fix a thing is the way to go for sure.
