Once the exit polls for this election came out a lot of left of center X'ers were shocked to find out that more than 50% of their cohort are Reaganite scum. Like no shit, guys. Don't you remember that everyone bullied and beat the shit out of you in highschool and everything you liked was called "alternative" and "counter culture"?
I've heard millenials described as the most progressive generational cohort in a century, but I'm skeptical. It'll be interesting to see if that descriptor still pans out when we finally inheret leadership of US institutions in 50 years or so. What's left of them anyway.
Party of the question is whether they inherit enough of the boomer wealth to shift them rightward. I'm thinking yes, but as global tensions increase the American empire is going to have more and more trouble generating the wealth needed to sustain the rightward pressure it's enjoyed throughout it's entire existence.
I think it'll be Zoomers and mostly Alphas who will really be picking up the pieces and actually having to contend with a less inflated living standard on a widespread basis.
There could be a "progressive" era that mirrors Teddy Roosevelt in regards to monopolies, but I don't see that happening for another twenty to thirty years.
I'd assume it's shorthand for wanting to raise taxes on corporations and the wealthy, to re-invigorate the public sector and welfare policies like universal healthcare, for being opposed to foreign interventions, etc.

Hopefully they nationalize them instead of break them up
whatever that means

they say that but then they do the opposite
its a term that has become entirely meaningless. maybe a slight tinge towards 'racism is bad'
It means left of Schumer.
Biden fought for segregation. It's a low fucking bar.
