What should've made this a sweep?

I agree there are huge issues with how the Democrats campaigned, but the big issues I am thinking of is the DCCC only sending money to safe seats who it turns out didn't really need it. While a lot of other potentially winnable races got 0. But that lies at Sean Maloney and he is gone

Sweep relative to the usual drop after a party wins the presidency and especially when they control both houses too.

But the issue is it turns out Dems could have held the house except California and ESPECIALLY New York fucked up royally. New York is 15 dems and 11 republicans lmao, in a blue as fuck state. They should not have been allowed to become as demobilized and sclerotic as they are.

I agree New York was an especially fucked up situation. The podcast Deconstructed interviewed AOC about it last week.

I was just saying that the issue does not seem with Pelosi specifically. The House passed a lot of legislation.

It is kind of funny that Hakeem Jefferies is from New York though. That state fucked up and they are leading the Dems in both chambers of Congress!

They could have rallied around literally anything they pretend to stand for, health care, prison reform, a welfare state, decriminalization, legal immigration, education, abortion rights; but these motherfuckers are literally too lazy to remember they aren't supposed to openly share all of the same values as the Republicans.

While I totally agree, that only works if the whole party buys in and it actually becomes law. The House did pass marijuana decriminalization but no midterm voters has a bill that died in the Senate in their mind
