    Yep, actually deleting something is rare. Space is cheap, data can be sold or used, and only super illegal crap needs to be truly deleted.

      "Deleting" something just means changing a single boolean value. Almost nothing ever gets deletes.

        In the EU they have data privacy laws that say certain data "should" get deleted, but in practice it's extremely difficult to get rid of all traces of a piece of data as it gets passed around.

        I think a single record from a database could effectively count as deleted if you don't count backups.
