Lol, I like how short the barrel is for that looong stock. Probably to keep the powder as far away from your face as possible, but still, its a look.
The thing with these early guns is that they literally have no trigger mechanism - you have to straight up take a lit match and hold it to a little hole at the top of the barrel (that's what the black dot on the barrel in this picture is). So the barrel, by necessity, has to be pretty far from your face, so you can extend your hand to light the powder. This one at least has a stock, some of them are just a barrel on a stick, and you have to either hold them underarm or rest them on top of your shoulder, like some kind of medieval bazooka
Is the crossbowman a halfling or is the man-at-arms an ogre? They can't both be normal human heights.
One is standing on a hill and the other is leaning toward the viewer
there might be some odd perspective going on, it seems to me like the man-at-arms is maybe standing on slightly higher ground, but I'm not sure, the heights definitely seem off
the crossbowman seems bent over to me, so there's for sure some foreshortening going on
