I kind of get the kneejerk reaction with how NATO countries often shit on nonwhite countries and then downplay the stuff they do. But that doesn't mean Qatar is an innocent smol bean either. We kind of do the same when Euros and North Americans shit on us but take the accusations a lot more seriously when it's coming from one of our own. It also hurts a lot more too when it's your own people.
thats's not what people care about when talking about Qatar. It's just another brown peeople contry used to justify in white people's heads why the US is so "civilized and democratic" compared to "barbaric" Asia.
It's not really even about about being against the west. It's the reaction people in nonwhite/non-NATO countries have when NATO/Western countries criticize them, even when they're allied with them on most things. Panama is like Qatar in Central America and they do the same thing when Americans or Euros criticize them. Others in the region that usually despise them will also chime in like what you're seeing with Qatar defense.
I'm not playing defense for Qatar either. I'm just explaining why you're seeing the reactions that you've been seeing.
