Yo, glad to see some representation. I'm not sure I would agree that it's a good book "in its own right", but it takes the material from Episode 3 and makes it coherent which is quite the literary feat.
Also, no Karen Traviss? Her take on Star Wars was always my favorite.

Karen Traviss is a total blindspot for me. I've been meaning to read her Republic Commando books for years, but it just hasn't happened yet.
