I don’t think I’ve fully internalized how frankly bizarre the world of suburban mega churches are. And I’m saying that as somebody who attended one as a kid.

If it weren't for the fact that this is a religious tax dodging scheme, the idea of drum corps suspended from wires is cool as fuck.

I played my drum for Him, pa-rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, pa-rum pum pum pum
Rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum
Then He smiled at me, pa-rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum

throwing money at artistic endeavors is one of the few good things about organized religion.

I once lived near a evangelical Christian college. They sponsored live music and not only was it excellent - it was dirty cheap too. Two name a couple musicians - I saw the faminco guitarist Carlos Montoya and the classical guitarist Christopher Parkening.

Parkening was really good. But Montoya was something else. He walked on stage and even though I knew he was old - I was surprised. He came on stage and he was a stooped old man and he moved slowly as he carried his guitar. I thought to myself "Man, he's so old. This is gonna suck." But just seconds into his very first song it was clear he was going to blow me away.

      Edit: I forgot a word.
