    A country managing a pandemic competently is so alien a concept to them they would rather invent a reality in their head where they are doing a Holocaust by building hospitals

    Somebody really ought to write a book about inventing reality, about the politics of news media and written my Michael Parenti.

    (I know you know this, but virtually everything Parenti wrote ought to be required reading. It's so accessible that even my dumb brain could figure it out.)
