Folks, everybody's saying that Deep Purple plagiarized their greatest hit. Lots of Brazilians come to me and they say it, "Maria Moita was stolen!", they're all saying it. "They stole our song, and they made it purple!"

    oh neat!

I was just reading the wiki article on english folk rock looking for a band I can't remember the name of, but fuck reading shit like well led zeppelin really took influence from some folk music, look at gallows pole! when I know their first album is chock full of old english folk songs

if you look at the history of the guitar anf rock, you can loosely trace it back to American (the landmass) slaves, through Mexico, to Spain, where it was likely to have come from the Moores, so I dunno, shout out to Allah for rock 'n roll I guess

there's a bit in here somewhere, I'm funny.

The lyrics are cool too. "Rich people wake up late and already start complaining, poor people wake up early and already get to work. I will ask my babalorixá (a Candomblé spiritual guide) to pray to Xangô (one of the orixás) so that he can put to work people who have never done any work."
