I would like to thank the Canadians for trying to make us Americans feel better about our horrendous healthcare system by making theirs worse, but it's really not necessary

Assisted suicide isn't inherently a bad thing, but the MAID program is a complete disaster that is essentially a program to kill the poor and mentally ill. Its one thing to let grampa on hospice od on ketamine, its another to give it to grampa who can't work because he blew his back and can't work.

I don't know where the line is for acceptable suicide, but it shouldn't be easy.

Oh, I absolutely agree, it's just horrifying watching one of Canada's few more redeeming qualities than the United States get sacrificed on the altar of Mammon. Like fine, both countries are genocidal white supremacist settler colonies, but at least you won't bankrupt yourself going to see the doctor in Canada, but now they'll bully old people into suicide so that's out the fuckin window

The caveat is that there are no doctors accepting new patients anymore

        text:

A maid is a person who shows up to the rich person's house to clean it up

        subtext:

Canada's MAID program is essentially a program to "clean up" the poor and mentally ill who have outlived their usefulness to the overlords

:disgost: they love to rub it in our faces
