A 24-hour strike at The New York Times, a historic demonstration in which more than 1,100 employees are expected to participate, began Thursday at midnight, after management and the union representing staffers failed to reach an agreement for a new contract after more than a year and a half of negotiating.
I've had people in my family tell me they aren't doing Wordle today, which is... bigger than it sounds. I think soft plays like this tend to get the liberals on board.
it sounds kinda :liberalism: to me like they don't have the willingness or strength to do a real strike so they performatively do this one day thing instead.
idk i'm not in the room so maybe this actually makes sense
uhhhhh can somebody explain to me the point of a strike with a pre-announced end time?

idk i can't imagine the conditions for that not inevitably ending up in a proper strike or the workers pre-defeating themselves.
