Hi all,
Path of Exile's new League, The Forbidden Sanctum, launches today at 2 PM Eastern time, so I thought it'd be good to have a thread about it. Who else is leaguestarting today/this weekend? Does anyone want to team up for playing through the acts?
For those who missed it: Hexbear has its own Path of Exile guild, named Path of Hexile (guild page is here, though non-members won't be able to see anything there). Anyone who would like to join is welcome, please either DM me here or message @Atrociraptor in-game to do so.
Also, for anyone who is leaguestarting: what build do you plan to run?
I'm going to do hit EA Raider again, since it was so easy to level last league, then stop in the mid-60s (just before killing Kitava) to do some endless Heist for a while, and try to trade my way up to early riches.
I'm starting Poisonous Conction Pathfinder. Did a practice run yesterday, got to act 8 with 4:40 played so I think this should be pretty smooth. I really am looking forward to this league mechanic, the account bound rewards they've shown so far look really good, and since they're account bound hopefully they aren't hard to grind for. All in all, looking like a banger league if all goes well.
I was going to do this again this league, last league I did PF Conc and cleared in about 4-5 hours and slowly transitioned into full time heist after that. Just had someone send me a pob for self chill raider into full time heist and I think thats where I'm going this league.
Don't think I can play all weekend though so I'm not gonna stress about clearing fast (can't really abuse early economy if you're going to be busy). I think this league I want to start bossing for vouches on tft and learn how to do Lab running properly. Maybe more crafting for profit. I'm moving into my final PoE player phase 😈
I'm planning on bossing myself, but I really can't bring myself to do boss carries. If this build truly makes bosses a breeze then maybe, but I'm far too nervous about bricking someone's fight haha.
Yeah I mean I won't be offering the service unless I have a build that just obliterates bosses. The main point will be to gain TFT rep so I can then move to doing Lab running service. I think I'm just going to try to run this league trying to find out the utter best ways to make divs/hr that I maybe still enjoy so I can blast through future leagues more efficiently. Definitely going to need to spend more time profit crafting
Alright, I get it. I've always struggled to find good currency strategies really, mostly because I find it hard to do repetitive things in PoE since there's always the temptation to switch to something else. Best I've done is grinding logbooks, which I think might be like a ~2-3 div per hour strategy? Not sure.
I think logbooks can be better but it is very dependant on your build (speed/how many negative remnant effects your build can mitigate). I think the reason why I end up liking heist is just because the div/hr is high and it leaves me with a lot of room to explore crafting stuff. After like a week of heisting though I have to make a normal character so I can do something besides open doors though, no matter the div rate its gonna get old
I've run logbooks with RF trickster, ice trap sabo, and explosive trap sabo. All builds that can deal with almost any remnant mod. It's always pretty consistent money, I find it a lot more fun than heist honestly. I tried heisting last league since I was finding it hard to get enough money to bulk buy logbooks just from mapping. It really is exhausting opening so many doors :shrek-pixel-despair:
I did Logbooks during expedition league as a Ice Spear CoC Inquisitor and could run them very fast, it was actually very enjoyable (most of the stuff you get is very easy to sell in bulk which is great). But yeah, heist is just chugging. Its a lot better when you have a character that runs at 800% movespeed or more and you are clearing 6-8divs+ an hour
Yeah profit-crafting is of interest to me as well. I ended up with about 300 divines last league but I always end up struggling to go any further.
Dunno if you've seen this but this guy runs a little blog where he details some really good profit crafting/hideout warrior stuff: https://thehideouthandbook.com/
Edit: He made a recent post on the profitability of doing a ton of flask crafting and I can vouch its very VERY easy divs, especially early league. If you use regex to highlight good hits and smash a ton of flasks at once you can make a stupid amount of free cash early on. I'd actually suggest anyone here to take a look at that guide because it will really help with currency generation early on, especially if your build is somewhat scuffed.
Nice, thanks for the link, will check that out!
I've always been quite fond of flask-crafting myself, actually. I've made some decent money on that, but mainly I like to have top-tier flasks.
Yeah he has some other ideas that are very very obviously profitable when you consider it. Honestly I'm glad hes not a youtuber because it would ruin everything hes talked about
I can give you a few tips on labrunning; that's my main focus. How much does labrunning service usually cost on TFT?
Depends on the time of the league. I know most of the deal but I've just not built a min maxxed lab runner before. I've heard when you run lab service on TFT you can make 15-20div an hour or so if you know what you're doing, which is why I figured I'd look into it. The problem is that you need to have TFT rep, which is only gained from vouches and really the only decent way to get vouches now is from running a bosser service (or a 5-way service, actually... guess If I shoot for a headhunter again thats an option)
So when you say minmaxed, are we talking for regular uber lab or uber uber lab (the latter is rather a lot harder, especially if you're looking to push your movespeed up past 500 into the 700-850+ range)? And do you want a character that can do only lab, and nothing else? I can give you the basic build details for that. Personally I like a character that can do more than just lab, and isn't an ultra-fragile one-trick pony, so I don't run that build; I prefer to run a Raider with 400 to 500 movespeed that can run red maps and high-level Heists as well as it can run lab. It's a bit slower and can't do uber uber lab, but I've never used TFT and I still could've bought a Mageblood last league if I'd wanted to.
Uber uber lab, the whole swap your gems and use traps setup
Yeah so that build relies on a few key tenets: reverse chill; swapping, minimally, body armour, and possibly helmet and amulet as well, prior to doing Izaro; and then laying your traps and moving to the bottom corner of the arena so he doesn't aggro on you but just dies and leaves immediately. Can explain in more detail in-game.
Yeah we'll have time to talk about it. I'm not planning on getting into it right away, but its a league goal to do lab running for profit so I can get a sense of it.
Well I've been running lab for profit since Delve, but I've never used TFT, so I've apparently been leaving (a LOT of) money on the table all this time :P
I would not feel bad for not using TFT. I knew how much dosh could be made selling harvest crafts and choose never to bother with TFT because it felt like a pain (which sucks because I could've built TFT rep that way). Its annoying that its this third party that you can optionally use for profit, but in terms of bulk selling or offering any other service theres really no replacement. I'm not sure what other way to build rep is, but honestly we COULD work on doing 5-ways as a duo if you want later on. The big purchase is a headhunter (I didn't even use mine last league) and a secondary as a aurabot/resetter. Its good cash too, just completely braindead work.
Dunno, I think I'm just kinda dreading working on TFT rep since I've avoided it as long as possible.
