The water temple is the only one that I didn't need a walkthrough on. I dunno what kind of person can't finish the water temple but can make it through the rest of the game.
Been a minute since I played Ocarina but I feel like the main hold up in the water temple is that there is one small key that is easy to miss that you can't go back and get without fucking with the water level, and who wants to do that again
I played it on 3ds (an old one without the nub) so the jank camera happened to point me straight at it. I might feel differently if that didn't happen, but I still think it's more fair than the forest temple where you have to shoot an 👁️ switch to reopen it. I'm pretty sure OoT is the literal only Zelda game where closed 👁️ switches can be reopened. Felt cheated when I had to look up a guide
Me and my brother played Ocarina of Time before I knew English, with my non-English speaking parent to help translate.
Biggest struggle was understanding that you could get into the forest temple with the hook shot. Managed to solve the rest with a combination of playground rumours and brute force. Water temple wasn’t that bad, fairly intuitive compared to getting directions that you can’t read.

I think it shows you that specifically in the 3DS version, because it is commonly missed in the original.
Probably! Of all the changes made, this one seems like it's for the better
Yeah I played the original and never had any problems with the Water Temple
Skill issue I guess 🤷🏿♂️
