I know someone who's a fusion Buddhist-Catholic anarchist who believes most scientific claims are incorrect and subject to what he calls the "observer effect" where God himself changes reality based on how much a person believes a certain thing. It's apparently the same double slit observer effect from physics, but he says scientists get it wrong. He says this is how anarchism can be achieved, through divine intervention through mass prayer. He also wants most technology and culture rolled back to around 1995 and wants it to stay there.

Several of my family members claim to be directly descendant from Christ's disciplines with no evidence whatsoever. One of them tried using this claim to get out of paying property taxes in court.

One of my coworkers believes Marvel movies created scifi, also believes they're very subversive. He'll say things about how he's a conservative and feels uncomfortable watching "anti-American, socialist" movies, but says they're the best films ever made regardless.
