@RussellsBarbershopQuartet@monads.online I'm actually a "classical" capitalist which is a "consumer first" model and it's the producers which must "sink or swim"...so anyway: we're all in this together, let's share ideas because it's the right thing to do for "the consumer".
here's the thing about foss bullshit. it's actually good if you approach it from a communist lens instead of the quasi libertarian liberalism it's usually depicted as. it's not a revolutionary project by any stretch but it's a fairly decent starting point for what intellectual commodities might look like outside of capitalism--the fact that most foss support comes from big companies, basically creating a set of shared libraries they can all use without copying each other's work, is actually a pretty remarkable thing! imagine if this heroic computing effort was put in service of the people as a whole as opposed to writing adware
