I've got a bit of a weird one. I'd been a Pardon My Take awl forever, listening basically from 2016. I had known about chapo but never gave it a try until PFT Commenter went on in summer if 2018. It got me immediately. The podcast, the subreddit, socialism it was the perfect storm at the right place at the right time man, i was radicalised instantly, must have binged like 20 chapo episodes in the first week, subscribed to 10 different podcasts and browsed the chapo subreddit so much I got a disciplinary at work and almost lost my job. I was home and instantly everything that didn't make sense about what was marketed as the left (why can't we have healthcare or a 4 day week or end the war in iraq or stop brutalising poc or refugees?) made sense. That wasn't actually the left. Finding chapo is probably the second or third most life changing experience in my life after meeting my amazing girlfriend and moving to the uk.
I'm home, comrades, may we never be displaced again.
