For those who have decided to take on a resolution for this year, what is it?
For me I kinda have two, one very simple and concrete and one a little more abstract. I've decided to make it to at least half of my local orgs meetings this year. Due to moving and work stuff I kinda had a reason to not be as active in 2022, but only going to about 4% of the meetings was just me being lazy and I wanna bump it up to at least 50%. The abstract one is "get things in order" and is essentially just working on building habits and sorting out my health and financials, no concrete goal for this other than actually doing something to keep myself on track, and I've kinda already made progress on it by planning ahead and booking a doctor's appointment for this week!
What are yall's resolutions? If you don't put any stock into them a struggle session friendly discussion is welcome
I actually did quit for almost a week and it wasn't that bad, I was gonna spend Christmas and New Years with my cousins though so I figured I would put it off till afterward because I knew I was gonna end up breaking on Christmas for sure.
Mostly tbh it's just to save money.
A glass of brandy to soothe the nerves before a long night of not drinking
What are you using to quit? I used SMART Recovery and it nearly saved my life.
Sheer force of will is the plan lol
Also the hangover I am nursing right now is good motivation
Would you at least be willing to try SMART? You don't have to go to meetings if you don't want to, and their program is basically cognitive behavioral therapy. You can find their main book on Libgen for free.
It really helps prevent relapses and all of that kind of thing.
One of the only good things about my situation is that I had to quit drinking because of the pain meds, and I'm not allowed to smoke because it's bad for the fused bones. It forced me to quit everything very young.
I wish you luck in your journey. Full support!

Get really good at grilling. Like to the point people wont even consider having anyone but me near a grill ever again
veggies are also tasty as fuck on the grill. throw some corn on there, some potatoes in foil, maybe some zucchini?
I know I thought of one earlier but now I'm too drunk to remember
hell yeah dude
i can't find the bisexual pride emotes but one would go here
Keep my BMI above 18.5 the whole year. Disordered eating sucks. But I think I can do it.
Losing weight is a massive one. Got a bad scare recently and things are just gonna keep getting worse as I grow older unless I change stuff.
Another one is writing. I want to end the year with at least having published something in a major mag.

getting serious about getting buff. I've been going to the gym a few times a week for 3 months, but my diet is fucking shit, so I'm not getting anywhere. I want to be a twunk by the end of the year at the very least.
-
taking music classes. I've been picking at my old guitar again for a while but I feel like I've hit a ceiling since I'm not that good at this "learning by yourself" thing. Also want to get a keyboard or a bass.
-
getting a couple publications in nice journals/conferences. I've decided I want to pursue a career in research so I need to get my act together. Unfortunately with the hand I was dealt it's like trying to squeeze water from stone but I'll do my best.
-
learning more about psychology and stuff. It was always an interest of mine but now I have an excuse since my area of research in interdisciplinary and most people don't bother with the humanities side.
-
finding my own look. I still dress like a fucking kid :baby-matt: so that had got to end. Also I have some ideas of tattoos/piercings and other things I want to try out but I'm a bit scared they'd turn out shit.

I want to be more courageous in my gender fuckery this year. Who cares if my boss has a problem with it? I'm a couple months away from being homeless even with a job, so they can go fuck themselves.
Write a little bit every day, something I want to build on, not just a throwaway
Also stay in school this time
I just want to read some books. Watch some movies and shows with my bro. Take it slow.
i decided to start running. im gonna do the couch to 5k program
