Despite having already claimed tuition from me, the university still begs for money, but this is the first time they've sent shit to my work address, which of course I never gave them. But it gets even better. The letter mourned the continuing loss of free speech on campus, but get this: apparently students of color feel the most marginalized! "Alright" I thought, "at least this isn't some chud shit". They then proceeded to brag about how a previous year they had paragon of free speech :jordan-eboy-peterson: visit campus, and how they want to continue this tradition of "challenging perspectives". They then asked for donations in the triple and even quadruple digits :agony-consuming:

Needless to say these fucks won't be getting another cent out of me as long as I draw breath and long after I cease.

Might be worth a one-line response to the effect of "I'm not donating to an institution that hosts a crank like Jordan Peterson."

You're not donating anyway, but this takes no effort and they do sometimes make decisions based on pissed off alumni.

is there a concise, mostly complete or exhaustive, professionally written document of everything bad about Jordan Peterson? I know there is a rational wiki article on him, but I didn't think it was even close to complete and the writing style of rational wiki is basically 4chan minus slurs.

You could use the cited sources from Cody Showdy's JP episode?

"If I wanted to listen to Jordan Peterson all day, I wouldn't have gone to college, I'd just stay at home and listen to my dad's incoherent rants."

Most of them are basically daycare for high school graduates

All of them are a grift though

A grift is when you're sold one thing but receive something else, or nothing at all.

Accredited universities give you essentially what they sell you on, it's just expensive as fuck.

Agreed, but to me that's more of an "overpriced" issue than "this is fundamentally not what you paid for" issue.

You're paying for a certificate employers value, education that is at least partially useful, and all the experiences that come with being a college student. You get essentially those things, you just (sometimes) find that what they actually do for you is (sometimes) not worth the cost.

After paying an actor $50k to speak at a graduation, my former university seemed to start a new donation drive hitting me up with phone calls all the time.

Sorry, take some of the millions of dollars out of the football budget if you're strapped for cash, I'm broke too.

If the football budget is that big, the program probably generates revenue.

Idealist = schools spend tons of money for school pride or something

Materialist = schools spend money to turn a profit

Yes, the sports budget definitely turns a profit, none of which gets put back into the academics. It's all bloat, while old buildings fall apart in every school except for brand new ass business building with leather couches and flatscreens everywhere.

The letter mourned the continuing loss of free speech on campus

When I hear "free speech" I think the person is maybe a right-wing fascist conspiracy theorist who thinks their racist language on Twitter should be protected by the First Amendment. Fuck no, turn that shit over to the FBI.

How the fuck do these places find where we work? I sure as shit don't have any of that listed online, EVEN IF you know my government name. An old landlord who was chasing me for money pulled the same shit a few years ago.

There are companies that sell this kind of thing like it was beer at a gas station.

I opened a new bank account recently, and the lady asked me about my address in another city from 25 years ago. It just appeared in her computer, poof.

Remembering back when I got this new phone number and the next day I went to my therapist's office and gave them my new number and the very next day, like magic, I started getting spam calls.

It's pretty easy. Do you pay taxes? Registered a car recently? That is accessible information for companies. Not always the most up to date, but usually within the last year or so.

they want to continue this tradition of “challenging perspectives”

no better way to challenge the status quo than to have status quo man show up and give his perspective.
