Gonna go with black, if that matters. I know nothing about the makeup world other than that a lot of brands are no bueno ethically.
You don't have to be as careful with nail polish at you do with other cosmetics. The cheap chippy stuff works for a day, and you can just layer it on thick enough til it works.
Most brands are fine but I have a bottle of OPI black nail polish and I like it
Maybe pick up a clear coat one too? I like putting it first on my nail then on top of the color when I'm done. Keeps nails for that staining (or maybe I just have shitty nail polish)
I really like a nice gel setter as a top coat. It just feels real good and adds a very nice shine to the color underneath.
OPI has a good reputation, but I don't wear fingernail polish anymore, so I couldn't swear to its quality these days.
if i've learned anything from my wife, just go browse honestly. pick one, try it, if it doesn't suck, great, if it does, try again some other time.
Remember to get a remover also. Non-acetone is preferable - acetone is more effective but will eventually dry and weaken your nails.
There are a few alternative, natural, methods like lemon juice that are also worth a try. But it's all down to personal preference, really.
La colors is the cheapest and sucks, but layer it or use a top bottom coat and you're mostly good. If not, chipped black nail polish looks more goth anyway
I buy Barry M
cheap, vegan, and very good
for black i use Barry M Gelly Hi Shine, with the All in One basecoat, lasts for ages and doesn't chip easilyi get my nail polish from the pharmacy near me, and i think the brand is "Essie"? Apparently it's pretty cheap but no too bad. i'll just do two or three coats to get nails as black as my cold heart :marx-goth:
i have some nail polish from the dollar store from the sally hansen brand that does the job too
whatever you can take from walgreens without paying
