Hello users of Hexbear, the mod team wishes to announce that going forward:

  • Moderators will be asked to remove comments that are off-topic, unproductive to the post's discussion, hostile, or wrecker-jacketing/alt-jacketing.
  • Moderators will be asked to lock posts that become excessively hostile and are unable to sustain productive discussion.
  • Moderators will be asked to remove meta posts and comments that are not in the feedback community.
  • Moderators will be asked to remove posts made to call out other users directly or indirectly

Anyone suspecting a user to be a wrecker, report and move on, publically calling the user a wrecker does not help, and in the case of a genuine post actively harms.
Please do not use account age as a test for the validity of a user, as there are many 2-year-old accounts that resurface to troll, and we wish to reduce hostility, especially against users with new accounts. Please engage with fellows users positively and assume good-faith until proven otherwise! As with other rules, the code of conduct will soon be updated and users repeatedly violating the code of conduct will be banned.

Thank you and Viva Hexbear!

Thank goodness for this rule. It's really annoying when people do these things. Like obviously a brand new account posting straight up chud/far right stuff is not engaging productively, but calling every new account that disagrees with you a wrecker is just toxic behaviour. People are allowed to disagree

Also that behavior is really bad for site growth. It's unreasonable to expect someone entirely new to be fully acquainted with the site's culture and values. As long as they're not a chud posting clearly reactionary shit or blatantly rehashing a previous struggle session, then they should be given a little bit of leeway. Being yelled at and accused of being a wrecker on your very first post is probably going to make you logout and never return.

Most people here don't think of site growth as a very high priority, but at the very least we need to gain new users at the same rate old users leave.

      People are allowed to disagree

Well there is a whole chapter about democratic centralism in Lenin's What is to be done?

And it is pretty clear that people are not allowed to disagree publicly when the party democratic consensus was reached.

Yes on matters to do with politics and the party. Or serious stuff.

Arguing over witch treat is better, or people's lifestyle choices, I don't see how that's protected under democratic centralism. Some people like superhero movies, others don't. Some people party, others do not. Some people consume drugs and alcohol, others don't. Some people like pets, others don't. This is just a few examples, but it's perfectly fine for people disagree on stuff like that.
