a lotta yall still dont get it
elf holders can use multiple larp juices on a single elf
so if you have 1 wizard elf and 3 different games you can create 3 new characters
god I've wanted to play FATE or Apocalypse World for years and literally no one wants to play anything other than d&d.
Fr, fantasy is a super boring setting and I'm here for storytelling fun times and not so much for combat because combat is yahtzee
for real. my group finally down to try pathfinder. fucking finally
Honest question: Why do you leave D&D to play D&D with the serial numbers filed off?
fucking lolz. it's more 5e v. 3.5/pathfinder
5e is just so damn shallow and boring. i can't be as much of a stats nerd as i want to in it
Yes because adding a +1 from five different sources is so fun and deep and what I really want to do when I play a TTRPG.
spoken like a true WOTC marketer. do they pay you to repeat their talking points word for word? or do you do it for hasbro for free?
that's what every comment i made is about and yet you keep making condescending remarks to me
go to r/conservative if you want to be a jerk to people. not here
Sounds like someone who can't even imagine putting down D&D to play something else and, dare I say, better.
Pathfinder has the same goal as D&D (heroic progression fantasy adventure) but actually knows how to achieve that. If you don't want that goal (it's not my thing either), nbd, but there's nothing wrong with it and PF does it well.
No. It's just the same game with more addition and more bookkeeping. That's what it is.
It's just 3.5 again tweaked by 3.5 nerds but not in a way that addresses any of the serious flaws 3.5 has
I feel like still in school is prime TTRPG years. Does your college have like clubs? There may be an associated club.
Tbh it's worth it if you can. Make those kinds of friends now because it's fucking impossible post-college. Ask me how I know :deeper-sadness:
I tried DMing and it's just such a fuck ton of preparation that my ADHD couldn't cope and I was always scrambling trying to put together assets and encounters.
This is the wrong attitude. Simply don't prepare, just wing it. I say this as a lifelong ADHD haver.
Yeah I talked to an acquaintance that said he just made up encounters as he went along but I just don't have much experience with any ttrpg and didn't feel confident in pulling something like that off.
You're just fucking around with your friends. You will all be messy playing the game to start. Just go for it. You'll be helped a lot if you pick a mechanically simple system that lends itself to narrative improvisation. Check out a Powered by the Apocalypse system.
It's already hard enough to pretend like I know what's going on and care and am paying attention and not still drinking, now having to do this with 5+ DND alternatives is going to be unsustainable.
