While there is much to criticise about the Japanese Communist Party and revisionism, it is important to remember that they do in fact get nearly 10% of the vote in Japan.

I think there's something to be said for that, we have no model for successful communist revolution within a developed nation, we've never achieved it, they're managing to succeed and promote communist views and they deserve critical support for that. A lot of the good shit you see come out of Japan comes from the fact there is such a strong socialist base there. There's also a very strong right wing of course but that's besides the point. The Japanese left is strong and good.

It would be really interesting if we could find out who is communist and who is not within the industry... Because I have my suspicions. I look at a lot of creators and I feel the red flag flying in their works.
