Is there a portable generator that someone can recommend? Should be able to help some medical equipment stay operable as well as other basic home living things in an apartment. Budget would be about $400

Buy a mini chest freezer for $100-200- even if you live in an apartment. They can be run indefinitely off a generator or for days on a battery pack. The smallest ones run 35 watts of power.

Go dual fuel if you want to be able to burn propane/diesel. The WEN DF475T $379 looks decent enough on Amazon. You'll want a carbon monoxide detector with a 10 year battery as well. Make sure you have CO detectors running even if it is outside. Some folks put it under windows and die that way.
