I believe the victims in your picture are snowy tree crickets, whereas the insect in OP's picture is an angle-winged katydid.

Is there a way to rotate images after you upload them? It's supposed to be 90 degrees clockwise.
If only Katydids weren't so damn loud and inconsistent in their chirping maybe my extremely light sleeping SO wouldn't hate them so much lol
